Alba is the pinnacle of the Sri Lankan grading standard, quills no thicker than 6 mm, rolled from the palest, most delicate inner bark of the season. Its flavour is the most refined expression of true Cinnamon: honeyed, floral and entirely without cassia's harshness. Supply is scarce and allocated; most seasons Alba sells out before harvest ends.
Origin story
Rolled by the most senior peelers in the Galle and Matara Cinnamon belt, where the craft has passed through families for over four centuries. A single peeler produces only a few kilograms of Alba in a full day's work.
