Laboratory testing of Cinnamon samples

Quality & certifications

Authenticity you can audit

'True Cinnamon' is a claim we back with certificates, chromatograms and an unbroken paper trail, not just a brand story.

The five pillars

What stands behind every shipment

Pure Ceylon Cinnamon®

Pending

The Sri Lanka Export Development Board's lion mark certifies 100% genuine Ceylon Cinnamon, grown and processed on the island. It is the industry's strongest species guarantee; cassia cannot carry it.

GI Certified Origin

Pending

Ceylon Cinnamon holds a protected Geographical Indication registered in the EU, the same legal instrument that protects Champagne, recognising the unique terroir and traditional processing of Sri Lankan Cinnamon.

Laboratory Testing

Moisture, volatile oil, coumarin, microbiology, heavy metals, aflatoxins and pesticide residues, all tested in-house and verified by ISO 17025-accredited partner labs. A certificate of analysis accompanies every lot.

Traceability

Every lot number resolves to an estate cluster, harvest fortnight, processing date and QC file. From a jar on a shelf in Hamburg back to a hillside in Galle, the chain never breaks.

Food Safety Standards

Pending

ISO 22000 food safety management, HACCP hazard controls and GMP manufacturing practice govern the facility. Steam sterilisation, metal detection and allergen-free dedicated lines are standard.

The species question

Why coumarin is the number that matters

Coumarin is a naturally occurring compound that European food authorities limit for daily intake. The difference between the two 'Cinnamons' is not subtle.

Ceylon (C. zeylanicum)

≤ 0.02%

Trace levels, suitable for daily culinary and supplement use

Cassia (C. cassia)

up to 1%

Up to 50× higher; subject to EU tolerable daily intake limits

Every Only True Cinnamon lot ships with a measured coumarin value on its certificate of analysis, so your regulatory file writes itself.
